The good problem
Two blocks a week. Both full.
We run two surgical blocks a week, Tuesday and Wednesday. Both are full.
This fall, Thursday becomes a third block, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is converted from what is currently general medicine. We are not adding hours to anyone's week and we are not opening a new day: we are giving up general appointments to make room for dentistry, because that is where the demand is.
The third block exists because the first two filled. If it fills too, there will be a fourth.

The day starts with the team huddle, paid, 8:45 to 9. On the floor, the week adds up to 39.25 hours; pay counts 40.
What is in a block
A typical block: one to two dental cases, plus one to two routine surgeries (sterilizations, mass removals).
Three blocks a week means roughly three to six dental procedures, up from two to four today.
To be straight about scale: this is a general practice with a serious dental caseload, not a referral dentistry service. If you are expecting five dentals a day, you should know that now rather than in month two.
What you will do
The equipment you will actually have in your hands.
- Gas anaesthesia with intubation
- A technician dedicated to monitoring, from induction to full recovery: ECG, oxygen, blood pressure, capnography, temperature.
- Surgical block
- Spays and neuters, mass removals and abdominal surgeries: preparation, assistance and monitoring.
- Ultrasonic scaling
- Supragingival and subgingival, plus polishing.
- Digital radiography, full-body and dental
- Two in-house systems; an image in under 5 seconds.
- Therapeutic laser
- Applied to surgical sites to reduce inflammation and support healing.
- IV fluid therapy by catheter
- Systematic: blood pressure maintained and immediate emergency access.
- In-house IDEXX lab
- Pre-anaesthetic panels and results in under 15 minutes: haematology, chemistry, urinalysis.

Who we are looking for
What is essential, and what is trainable.
Essential
- A DEC in animal health technology, or the grandparent clause / acquired rights recognized by the OMVQ.
- AHT certification (the ATSAQ exam), or in progress.
- Strong in anaesthesia and monitoring.
- French to serve our clientele; working English is an asset.
- A real appetite for making dentistry a specialty.
Trainable
If you are strong on anaesthesia but dentistry is still new to you, apply anyway. We will help you create opportunities to learn: our reference books, and dentistry workshops or seminars when they come up.
