Veterinary Assistant
Your way into the veterinary field. We train you on the job.
The veterinary assistant is the person the whole team leans on. You keep the premises clean and the instruments ready, help with restraint and lab work, and take on more responsibility as your experience grows. No specialized diploma needed: rigour, energy and a willingness to learn are enough to start.
A day in the role
- Cleaning and disinfecting exam rooms, cages and common areas.
- Laundry, instrument sterilization (ultrasonic, autoclave) and kit preparation.
- Restraining animals during exams and procedures.
- Helping out in the lab and pharmacy (basic tests, restocking).
- Receiving deliveries and restocking supplies.
- Backing up the front desk and basic care (nails, ears, baths) as needed.
What we're looking for
- No specialized diploma required; a high-school diploma (or equivalent) is enough.
- Rigour for hygiene, biosecurity and doing things well.
- Comfort handling animals and working on your feet, in a busy environment.
- Versatility: priorities shift with the day and the season.
- Above all: the desire to learn and grow in the field.
